YOUTH PROGRAMS

PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAMS

PLAY PALS
A free play based program that allows your child to interact with children in an age appropriate atmosphere.
* Parent participation is mandatory.
Ages 1-2

ARTS N CRAFTS

Using different materials each week, this program is designed to develop your preschoolers’s imagination and creativity.
Ages 3-5

KIDS IN THE KITCHEN
A popular program that introduces children to the kitchen and the fun of cooking.
Ages 4-5

PRESCHOOL BODY ROCK
A total body work out! –Your preschooler will be active with various pieces of equipment, games & music designed to promote fun and fitness.

PRESCHOOL PLAYTIME

Each week your preschooler will enjoy different activities including arts and crafts, gym and gross motor games and musical activities while making new friends.

YOUTH PROGRAMS


ARTS N CRAFTS

Youth will explore different materials and take home a new creation each week. Many of the crafts are geared towards special occasions and holidays.
Ages 6-12

KIDS IN THE KITCHEN
A popular program that teaches the young chefs of today basic cooking skills, orients them with the kitchen and provides practical cooking experiences.
Ages 6-12

JUJUTSU
This ancient traditional sport combines discipline, strength, coordination and concentration. Balance, flexibility, endurance and of course fun, are all part of this program.


KICKBOXING
Come and learn kickboxing combinations, footwork and movements while having a great time. We’ll use equipment, partner work and teach you how to properly do kicks and punches in a non contact program.
Ages 8-12

TEEN PROGRAMS


TEEN BOXING

Learn the skills and drills of boxing and get into shape in this non-competitive course.
Ages 13 and up

*BABYSITTING COURSE
Designed by the Canadian Red Cross, this one day course offers those potential babysitters the necessary skills for what to do in emergencies, safety practices, first aid, diapering and feeding as well as basic babysitting activities.
Ages 12 and up

LEADER CORPS

This program has been rich in tradition in the Y for many years. It is open to youth ages 13-18 who are serious about participating in a leadership development program. Leaders develop their skills through games, social activities, guest speakers & volunteering. This program runs during the school year from September – June.

TEEN WEIGHT TRAINING

This is a 6-week introductory weight training and weight room etiquette program to enable teens to use the weight room safely at any time. Topics include cardiovascular training, muscle strength and endurance, flexibility and nutrition.
Ages 13 and up

ADVANCED TEEN WEIGHT TRAINING

This is a 5-week weight training program involving free weights and machines. There will be more in-depth knowledge and practice for muscle strength and endurance routines. Must have attended Teen Weight Training or be over the age of 16.
Ages 15 and up
