TEEN PROGRAMS


TEEN WEIGHT TRAINING
This is a 6 week introductory weight training and weight room etiquette program to enable teens to use the weight room safely at any time. Topics include cardiovascular training, muscle strength and endurance, flexibility and nutrition.
Ages 12 and up          Thursdays……………………………………….6:30 - 8:00 pm

ADVANCED TEEN WEIGHT TRAINING
This is a 5-week weight training program involving free weights and machines. There will be more in-depth knowledge and practice for muscle strength and endurance routines. Must have attended Teen Weight Training or be over the age of 16.

Ages 15 and up          Thursdays………………………………………6:30 – 8:00 pm

LEADER CORPS

This program has been rich in tradition at the Y for many years. It is open to youth who are serious about participating in a leadership development program. Leaders develop their skills through games, social activities, guest speakers and volunteering.  This program runs during the school year from September to June.

12 - 17 years             Thursday...............................................................6:30 - 7:45 pm

GO GIRLS!

This program for teen and pre-teen girls will encourage participant, friendship and self esteem.  Eahc week will foucs on a different area such as nutirition, physical fitnes and leadership.

KICKBOXING

Come and learn kickboxing combinatins, footwork and movements while having a great time.  We'll use equeipment, partner work and teach how to properly do kicks and punches in a non-contact program.
