L.I.N.C. classes are offered in four levels, starting with beginners at Level 1 and progressing through to level 4 for advanced students. The levels are set up to teach some language skills which can help the student to: communicate more effectively with teachers, doctors, hospital workers, merchants, etc. and to enable participants to be more self-sufficient in their community

When do the Classes Start?
The L.I.N.C. program is a continuous intake program. Newcomers can register at Employment and Immigration offices and start at any time.

Host Program
This program facilitates friendships between Newcomers to Canada and volunteers from the greater Saint John area. These friendships provide newcomers with chance to practice English and receive support in adapting to their new community. This is a unique opportunity for cross-cultural sharing. Interested volunteers are interviewed by the HOST coordinator who will help match them with a newcomer. Volunteers try to spend a minimum of one hour a week with their new friend.

Immigrant Settlement & Adaptation Program
ISAP provides several services to landed immigrants. These include financial and adaptation counseling, referrals to local health, government and legal resources, employment related services and emotional support.

Resettlement Assistance Program
Eligible R.A.P. immigrants receive 4-6 weeks of initial settlement services including orientation, counseling, translation and referrals to professional health and government resources. Client eligibility to be determined by CIC.
