As the single largest not-for-profit Childcare provider in Canada, the Y has a unique and distinct blend of programs available for your child. Our network of over hundreds of centers across Canada allow us to develop standards, provide staff training and pool resources in order to create a fun, nurturing environment for your child to grow into.

The Saint John YM-YWCA has been serving Saint John for more than 150 years. Our goal is to provide the widest range of fulfilling programs to serve the changing needs of Saint John & surrounding communities. We strive to help individuals develop intellectually, emotionally, and physically. In no other area is this more evident than in our childcare programs.

Hazen Avenue Childcare
Our Hazen Ave. location is our largest Childcare center. We are centrally located within the city of Saint John. We are licensed for toddlers to pre-school. There are both full-time and part-time spaces available with preference given to full-time care.

All of our staff have Early Childhood Education Diplomas. All of our centers are licensed by the Province of New Brunswick.

We offer nutritious meals, snacks, developmental programming, activity centers, gym and swim time.

We can also offer hourly babysitting on weekday mornings. Please contact our Director at 646-2384 for more information or reservations.


Saint John West Childcare
Located at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Manawagonish Road, this center meets the needs of the parents and children of the Westside of Saint John. The centre will be open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will offer a full daycare program for ages 2-5. Gym time is on site and we provide daily outings for your child's stimulation.

New this fall! Afterschool care is provided in this site as well. With spacious area and full gymnasium it is a great place for your child to spend his/her time socializing with other children, playing games in a safe, comfortable environment.

In addition, we also offer Before-school care from 7:30 - until school starts.


Millidgeville Community Center
Located at the M. Gerald Teed school, in partnership with the City of Saint John we provide a Pre-school program, Before School program, Lunch program and After-school program.

This new joint venture offers the children and parents of the Millidgeville and North End area peace of mind throughout the school year.

The centre will a full pre-school for ages 4-5. Gym time is on site and we provide daily outings for your child's stimulation.

Our after-school program begins with the dismissal from class. Convenient and safe. A great service for the working parent as well as great fun for your child.

In addition, we also offer before school care from 7:30 am until school begins. Does your work schedule mean your child can't take the bus to school or you can't drop them off to school on time? Then the convenient before-school program is ideal to get that early start to the day.


Gondola Point Recreation Centre
The Y started operation of this centre in fall of 2005. A 60 site After school program, pre-school program and a play-school program are all part of this large centre. In summer of 2006 there will be Summer Day Camps as well.

In our nurturing environment you can choose to have your preschoolers interact with other for a few days a week or enroll your school age children in a safe program for After school. The centre is also open during School closures and Professional Development Days. Contact us at 849-5784.

We have many after-school locations in the greater Saint John area. Our Afterschool sites are all licensed by the Province of New Brunswick.

We also provide full day care during school closures at our Hazen Ave. site.
