Adult Learning Program (C.A.L.P.  Community Adult Learning Program)

C.A.L.P. is an academic upgrading program developed with the adult leaner in mind. Learners enter the program at varying levels of education (usually grade 4-9 levels). The program strives to meet the needs of each leaner with an individualized curriculum and much one on one learner/facilitator interaction. The objective of each leaner is different.

The program in coordinated through both the Saint John YMCA-YWCA and Literacy New Brunswick. CALP has offered its services to over 100 individuals. Several of the people have acquired employment as a result of upgrading and résumé writing skills. Learners also become ready to write the GED exam.

This program is located at the Saint John YMCA-YWCA Forest Glen Community Centre.  To obtain more information on the
