CAMP GLENBURN-Summer Programs

(2008 brochure now available on-line or e-mail us and we will send you one glenburn@saintjohny.com)

The Glenburn summer camp program emphasizes fun, adventure, creativity, cooperation, friendships, learning and imagination. Residential campers live in cabins of 8-10 campers with 2 counsellors. Our 6-day "Discoverers" program provides an excellent introduction for the first time camper or those younger campers who may be a little nervous about leaving home. The 13 day "Explorers" program is designed to provide a more challenging opportunity for campers as they become older or more comfortable in the residential camp setting.

Interest Groups
Campers are able to sign-up individually for lessons and skill development in canoeing, kayaking, swimming, drama, earth education, Glenburn Outdoor Living Skills (GOLS), high and low ropes, arts and crafts, climbing and dance.

Out-trips: All campers will have the opportunity to enjoy an overnight out-trip. "Discoverers" campers are introduced to out-tripping with a short hike, paddle or, for our younger campers, a sleep-out on camp property. "Explorers" campers travel further with trips ranging from 24 to 48 hours.

Cabin Activities
Making decisions, respecting each other, and learning together are important to the Glenburn experience. Hikes, cook-outs, crafts, beach volleyball and the high ropes are just some of the favourite Cabin Activities.

All Camp Activities
All camp activities are an opportunity for the entire camp to get together for exciting games like "Capture the Flag", or to spend a quiet moment by the Bay at a Campfire.
