Building For Youth - a plan for a new building (1945)
This document, dated 1945, is pictured surrounded by newspapers and reports from 1951 & 1952.  It outlines the argument for a new YMCA Building on Hazen Avenue.  The new building will have state-of-the-art facilities for swimming, gymnastic activities, reading and leisure activities.  This new building will even boast bowling lanes, a massage facility and a craft shop.
Dated Saturday, November 1, 1952 the Evening Times Globe reports the launch of a Capital Campaign to build the Hazen Avenue structure.  When completed, the Hazen Avenue Y will contain 62 residence rooms, two lounges, two game rooms, nine club rooms, a chapel, two craft shops, an all-purpose room, kitchen and 'tuck shop'.  The rear of the building will house the gym, pool, showers, locker room, the 'health club room' and handball courts.
